This is not an urban legend neither is it a fairytale but it is a cautionary tale for anyone who exists on this planet. A young girl had recently moved to Bangalore where she shared a flat with another roommate. The girl was single and her roommate convinced her to go out on a date with a boy she knew. She later found out that the boy her roommate had set her up with was her roommate's ex-boyfriend. If this revelation has taken you by surprise let me tell you, this is the least absurd aspect of the incident.
The date began and everything seemed to be going normal, they were eating at a restaurant trying to make small talk about things that they were going to forget by the next morning. Finally, the date came to an end and the awkward discussion of whose apartment they should go to begin.
The boy kept on insisting for them to go his apartment but the girl was adamant on bringing the boy to her place. After a long but futile debate, the boy went to the girl's place. The next morning she woke up with a very painful stomach ache. Unlike most of us who never go to the hospital instantly, the girl left her place almost immediately and headed towards the hospital. She sat in the waiting room anxiously waiting for her name to be announced. Finally, the nurse called out her name.
The doctor does the checkup and the shocked expression on his face worries the girl.
DOCTOR: "Are you sexually active?"Now, if you're thinking this is a Quentin Tarantino mixed with Tim Burton story you are wrong, the boy she slept with was not dead. The brave girl did not waste another minute and went to the police station to report the 'out-of-the-world' incident. The police may have been shell-shocked by hearing this incident but they paid heed to the girl's suffering and went to the boy's house. What they found there shocked both the police officers and the girl.
Let's rewind a little bit, remember when the boy was so insistent on taking the girl to his house? Well, it's safe to say that 'no one' saved her life. His house would have been a one way street for her, she would have gone in but never come out.
This story is not written for the purpose of entertainment but as a sign of warning to be very careful when you decide to spend some time with someone you have met for the first time. We don't live in the same world as Barbie where everything is pink and perfect, our world has Ken's who might as well be characters of a horror film.
