Peyush Bansal is the co-founder & CEO of Lenskart, and Co-founder of John Jacobs. Peyush was born on February 25, 1985, in New Delhi, India. He is also one of the sharks of the famous Indian reality show Shark Tank.

He started Lenskart in 2010 with the vision to deliver an exceptional eyewear experience to the people who are deprived of Vision Correction. During the time from 2007-2009, Peyush did with startups, but the major kick in his entrepreneurial journey come with Lenskart. In 2010, Peyush along with Amit Chaudhary started selling contact lenses online. By the year 2011, the company also started its business in eyeglasses and sunglasses.

As of 2021, Lenskart is delivering 10 Million spectacles a year to people in India, SE Asia, Middle East, and our vision is to deliver a Billion spectacles over the next 10 years. Today valuation of Lenskart (as of 2021) is estimated to be above INR 20,000 crore. Lenskart has 600+ retail stores and around 4000+ employees across 450 cities in India. Lenskart brand ambassador is Katrina Kaif.

Peyush Bansal did graduation with a Bachelors's in Electrical Engineering - IT, Control & Automation from McGill University, Canada, and afterward MPEFB from Management Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Later, Peyush was selected by one of the tech giants Microsoft in the US and he worked there as a Program Manager from Jan-Dec 2007.

His first startup was SearchMyCampus.com; it was a campus classifieds portal. The portal was solving a problem by bridging the gap between the college students with different service providers like internship companies, transportation, books, and more of such services which a student may need. But then Peyush shut Searchmycampus.com in 2010 as Lenskart was doing well and it was not possible to keep the site live since there was no one to attend to customers.
