"How to lose weight?
From tomorrow I will definitely start dieting."
A quote which we recite once a week or when our favorite clothes become tight.
And, all we think of is dieting, which is the worst possible thing we do to our body as we have made the wrong impression by following self-rules or guidance according to our moods, in this process we neglect the disadvantages of dieting. Yes, it has disadvantages only, it might help you lose weight, but the deficiencies it will do to your overall body is what you are unaware of.
We are often highly motivated and full of excitement at the beginning of a weight loss journey. It happens most of the time that during this phase, we tend to set unrealistic goals for weight loss.
But generally, high expectations can lead to weight gain when a lack of progress leads to a lack of motivation.
Many of us think it is the easiest way to lose weight at a faster rate, but News Flash!! It is the silliest thing to do.
Since crash diets majorly result in long-term weight loss. In fact, they can sometimes lead to long-term weight gain. Considering that this type of diet is too hard to maintain.
We may miss out on various essential nutrients that our body requires. Hence the body will be on low-energy mode craving for high-fat and high-sugar foods, which ultimately leads to eating more calorie food, causing weight gain.
It's a self-made myth, since snacking isn't the problem when trying to lose weight; generally, it's the type of snack we prefer to eat.
Many of us crave a snack in-between meals, which maintain our energy levels, especially if they have an active lifestyle. But, we prefer to eat crisps, chocolate, and other snacks that are high in sugar, salt, and fat, which gives our tummy a feeling of fullness.
Generally, it is believed, a calorie deficit is required for weight loss. This means you need to burn more calories than you consume.
However, various recent studies show that the calorie deficit varies from person to person.
So, in this case, we tend to either eat more calories which will ultimately lead to weight gain, or we eat too less calories, which leads to muscle loss and significantly slowing down the metabolism rate.
We are mood dependent people, if we are in the mood will do all the exercise within that time only, thinking yes, we are fully motivated and more exercise will lead to instant weight loss.
But, sorry to hurt your feelings!! No, it does not happen like that, too much exercise means stress to the body and mind. That's why our body says No-No to do exercise the next day. On the contrary, not exercising at all can lead to loss of muscle mass and lower metabolism.
Be cautious. Foods labeled "low fat" has to contain no more than a specific amount of fat to legally use that label. But, they are overloaded with sugar to improve their taste. Rather than keeping you full, low-fat products are likely to make you hungry, so you end up eating even more.
Many of us cut soft drinks and other sweetened beverages out of our diets to lose weight, which is generally a good thing.
However, drinking fruit juice instead isn't smart, because you might not know that you end up consuming more calories overall, instead of compensating for the liquid calories by eating less later in the day.
Different people have different work styles, but sitting all day at your desk jobs or being a couch lover, but following your diet plan will never help you in your weight loss journey, because you might not be burning the required calories.
Even, standing all day or working out too much in your gyms will not ultimately get you six packs or help you lose weight, they might lose your muscle strength and burn the required calories to maintain a balanced energy of the body.
Since, now it's easy to keep track of your daily nutrients, with various food tracker apps, such as fat, protein, fiber, and many other daily nutrient levels we need to be receiving to not just help us with keeping our weight on track.
But, ultimately keeping track of every hour what we eat will ultimately generate stress of should I eat or not, and what is not allowed to eat, we crave more for it.
It's very common to feel like you're not losing weight fast enough, despite faithfully sticking to your diet. However, the number on the scale is only one measure of weight change.
Weight is influenced by several things, including fluid fluctuations and how much food, remains in your system.
If the number on the scale isn't moving, you may very well be losing fat mass, but holding on to water, which sometimes can lead to water retention.
Hence, Weight loss doesn't mean you have to leave what you love, it just means we need to eat in a proper manner with the right amount, and knowing our "why" is often a huge motivating factor during the weight loss journey because it keeps us moving through the difficult times.
