Providing security to high-risk individuals is of the utmost importance in any country. But did you know that there are 4 types of securities that are provided to VIP's or VVip's in India, depending on how much threat they are in.

What is the process of getting security in India?

A person who is facing a threat files an application at the nearest police station. After the complaint is received, then the case is forwarded to the intelligence agencies to find out and calculate the risk posed to the person and on that basis the type of security is provided. The committee comprises of, Home Secretary, Director General, and the Chief Secretary in the state who takes this decision. After the process gets completed, the Union Home Ministry gives a final formal approval.

In India there are four types of security levels which are provided to highly important persons:

1. Z+ category security:

This kind of security is the top most rank of security. It is given to top dignitaries of the country. A collection of 36 personnel. This level of security consists of 28 NSG commandos, an escort, a pilot and tailing vehicle, Cobra commandos and 12 home guards.

The person in Z+ category security will get security all over the country and when that person goes out of the state then only few commandos go with that person rest is the responsibility of that particular state to provide security.
: This level of security is provided to VVIPs and VIPs like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath, they all are Z plus cateogry security holder.

2. Z category security:

This kind of security is a collection of 22 personnel. This level of security consists of 5 NSG Commandos and Police Personnel. This is provided by the Delhi Police or Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). This level of security has been given to Yoga Guru Ramdev, Mukesh Ambani, and many actors are Z cateogry security holder.

3. Y category security:

This kind of security is a collection of 11 personnel. This level of security includes 2 Commandos and Police Personnel and 2 Personal Security Officers. There are many people in India who get this third level of security like Chief Justice of Indian S. A. Bobde, Nita Ambani and Arnab Goswami many more. Recently, Kangana Ranaut got this category of security after a tussle with Maharashtra government. These all are Y cateogry security holder.

4. X category security:

This kind of security is a collection of 2 armed police personnel and no commandos included. This level of security is provided by Personal Security Officer and this level of security is also provided to many people in India. Sonia Gandhi is the X cateogry security holder.

These different levels of securities that are provided to VVIPs, VIPs, Politicians, High-Profile Celebrities/Sportspersons are provided by security agencies like the Special Protection Group (SPG), National Security Guards (NSG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

But there are also special security forces that are provided to people depending on legal provisions as well. These are the different levels and categories of securities that are provided to people in India.
