My piece of advice to college students on how to be fashionable.

Everybody gets hit with the realization of leveling up their fashion game. This generally happens once you begin college. In schools, we have to stick with uniforms and restrictions, and workplaces demand formal clothing or semi-formal clothing, colleges are free zones where you can dye your hair in any possible colour from the rainbow and still have it be normal.

Hair Colour:

Hair colour adds a lot of weightage if you are trying to build yourself a stylish image. However, knowing what suits you best is important. Not every colour suit everybody and before you try a DIY, it is better you get it done from a salon if this is your first time because the problem is, if it goes wrong, it will be with you for a while. Teal, violet, ombre is used a lot these days. Platinum and gray hair is still rare, edgy, and difficult to pull off.

Earrings for college girls:

Accessories double up your fashion game. Multiple piercings in an ear, wearing several ear studs and hoops look both punk and cool. Danglers are not exactly very trendy. However, mismatched earrings, are a big trend right now.

Accesories/Jewelry:

That chunky chain jewelry has stayed with us for very long and jewelry designers still continue with this trend at present. The addition is the use of beads and colored chains in it now.

Clothing:

Layering works, but it should be relevant too. Layering works in winters but in summers it just adds up to your discomfort, especially in hot states and cities. So in summers if you want to layer, you can wear a bustier over a shirt or flowing miniskirt over a mid-length one and other similar stuff, basically something that still allows room for air.

Ethnic clothes work perfect:

Oxidized jewelry does not go with everything. It looks mismatched and not a hipster. It looks killer with traditional Indian prints. You need not wear an ethnic dress though, it could be a crop top in Ajrakh print or a palazzo in Kalamkari, and silver oxidized jewelry looks bomb with it.

Hairstyle:

You can try to maintain a dreadlock for some time; it is easier for people with curly hair to get a dreadlock in comparison to people who have straight silky hair because the lock takes a longer time to build. Adding a braid with thread and cowry shell looks very hippie.

Sunglasses:

Sunglasses make you stand out. Why do you think the Kardashians are wearing it all the time?

Accesories with sunglasses:

Coloured sunglasses, big sunglasses, all kinds of sunglasses work. The cooler the shape, the better your fashion game, but you have to first understand which shape suits your face best. People with smaller faces find it difficult to pull off sunglasses. They should try smaller half-moon sunglasses and all. You can add a sunglass chain with your sunglasses too.

Handbags and Footwear - Don't be a basic diva:

Most people do not put a lot of thought into their handbags and footwear, but footwear generally kills the outfit if they are not styled correctly. There are several PCV bags, faux leather bags, etc. that one can carry instead of basic totes.
