This is the story of a 45-year-old celebrity fitness trainer Kiran Dembla has changed the meaning of life after marriage for all the women in India. She broke the barriers, which people believed that a woman in a saree is meant only for house chores.
Instead, she proved it wrong.
She is an inspiration for women around the country that dreams can be achieved even after marriage, it just needs an eye on what you aspire to be or love to do.
Recently, she spoke to Humans of Bombay and shared her personal life, achievements and a lesson which she wants every woman to go along with is:
Find a purpose in life, stay happy in whatever you are in & put everything to achieve it, rest everything will follow you automatically.
She says:
"After marriage, my life was confined to the 4 walls of my home. I'd wake up & cook for the family. 10 years went by & every day, I felt like I wasn't doing anything I loved. So I decided to take music classes for kids at home. But I barely left the house. My health worsened; I was inactive & put on 25 Kgs."
So she joined a gym & started going daily at 5 AM and used to be back home in time to get the kids ready for school. In 7 months, I lost 24 kgs. After getting an interest in gymming, she discussed with her husband and planned to open her own gym. She sold her jewelry and took a loan to rent a flat and for gym equipment's & made it into a mini-gym. In 4 months, her entire colony knew about her gym.
She also shares an incident when someone abused her on the road, she says:
"I was in a saree & at first, I didn't say anything. But when he abused me, I got out of my car. He saw my body & was mum. I slapped him & told him to never abuse women."
She made 6-pack abs, many agencies offered her shoots, to collaborate with her and later she got an invitation from the Indian Body Building Federation for the world championship. Right away, she started training for the championship. Unfortunately 15 days before the championship, her father-in-law died.

So while we were at their house, I wore a Salwar to cover my body. There was no time to work out & non-veg weren't allowed in her house. So I went around trying to find someone to boil eggs for me. My nephew even snuck me out & helped me go to the gym.
We stayed for a week & then I told my mom-in-law that I had to go home to look after the kids - I didn't want to make her uncomfortable by telling her the truth. I reached Budapest for the competition & won 6th place!
Later after, she acknowledges that she has interest even in DJ, Photography and mountaineer (she has so far trekked to the Mount Everest base camp thrice) and what next? She did everything, yes everything and what are her next move, only she knows! What makes Kiran different from others is that she do what makes her feel happy.
