For the past few weeks, Indian authorities have been working vigorously in giving Ayodhya, a small temple town in Uttar Pradesh a makeover to set the foundation for a temple for the deity Ram. Ram Janmabhoomi is the name given to the site in Ayodhya, which is said to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. The temple is being built in the place of a Mughal-era mosque, which was demolished in the year 1992.

The inauguration of the temple took place with the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi setting the foundation stone of the Ram Temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi first visited Hanuman Garhi temple to seek the permission of Hanuman for the day's events. Later, PM Modi used 40 KG silver brick to lay the foundation stone of Ram Mandir. This is one of the most historic events that have taken place in India since ages. On 25 March 2020 Lord Ram's idol was moved to a temporary location in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

This Ram Temple in Ayodhya is set to be grand and bigger compared to the plans that were set earlier.

Ram Mandir Status:

Originally the temple was set to be of 141 feet tall back in 1988 but now it will be of 161 feet while adding two more Mandaps to the structure. All the pillars and stones that were carved based on the earlier design will still be used. The temple will have five doomed Mandaps and one Shikar, the total number of the pillar in the Mandir has also been increased from 212 to 360. The temple will have 3 floors.

The Nagar style Temple has been designed keeping in mind the Shulpa Shastra specs and 4 more small Temples will surround the main structure of the Temple. The foundation of the Temple has been made with 2 lakh bricks inscribed with Jai Shri Ram. Stones to complete the temple will be brought from the Banshi Mountains in Rajasthan. While the estimated cost of completing the structure of Ram temple is around INR 300 crores. Rs 1,000 crores will be used for the development of the 20 acres of land around the temple premises and it will take about 3.5 years to finish building it. According to the reports, Statue Of Ram Will Cost INR 2500 Crore.

This Temple is set to be the largest Ram Temple and is set to create history in India. The most awaited ceremony of laying the foundation of this temple took place on 5th August 2020 and has already started creating history all over the world. The Temple is built is a dream come true for a million Indians. While the struggle of whether a temple should be built or a mosque should be built was never-ending, the win of Ayodhya being the birthplace of Lord Ram and the decision of a Temple being built has given a relief to a million Hindus in India.
