Divyendu Sharma's (Divyenndu) life story from hitting a rock bottom to touching the peak is very inspirational. A boy from a middle-class family, whose dream was to become a big star in the film industry, which he certainly accomplished. Famously known for his role of "Munna Tripathi" in the Amazon Original show "Mirzapur", Divyendu Sharma is now a well-known actor in the Bollywood industry.
Even after playing so many roles on screen, yet many people don't know his journey of becoming a star. How he ended up becoming an actor and what was the struggle he faced before becoming an actor.
1. Divyendu Sharma is born and brought up in Delhi. He is a sakht Dilli ka launda. Divyendu belongs to a middle-class family. His father used to work at The Janpath Hotel in Delhi.
2. During his school days, Divyendu was not good at his studies. He scored 49% in the 10th standard.
3. After scoring less in his 10th standard, Divyendu choose Arts and Humanities for his 10+2 and discovered that he loved studying political science and social studies. He scored 84% which was a huge surprise for him and his family.
4. He graduated in Political Science from Kirori Mal College in Delhi.
5. He along with having theater experience, also has a two-year diploma in acting from FTII, Pune.
6. In his struggling days he used to spend only INR 32/meal because he was short on money.
7. His first web series debut was not Mirzapur; it was Zee5's original 'Badnam Gali' and another one was 'Fatafat'.

8. After completing his diploma course, Divyendu shifted to Mumbai in search of work. But for three years he did not find any work and had to face a lot of financial challenges, so to earn a living he used to host corporate events and sometimes used to help his college friends in their video editing projects.
9. Divyendu is married. Shocked? He got married to his long-time friend Akanksha Sharma. They both got married right after the movie "Pyaar Ka Punchnama" got released.
10. In the year 2019 he gave up his surname, stating that, "In a country like India, it is important to remove cast division", so he removed "Sharma" and now his official name is Divyenndu.
11. Before he became a successful actor, Divyendu did a lot of television advertisements for Fidelity Mutual Funds, Birla Sun Life, and Virgin Mobile.
12. The first-ever role that he played in a movie was a small role in Madhuri Dixit's movie called "Aaja Nachle".
13. His major debut, where people started recognizing him, was in the year 2011. He played the character of "Liquid" in the movie "Pyaar Ka Punchnama".
14. After playing multiple roles in comedy films, he decided to do movies where he could play different characters and he then took challenging roles. He did a fabulous job in "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" and "Batti Gul Meter Chalu".
15. From 2007 to 2020 he has done 13 movies and 4 web series.

16. Divyendu always wanted to play the role of a gangster and wanted to play roles like the Iron Man and Travis Bickle.

18. Originally, in "Mirzapur" he was approached to play the role of "Babloo Pandit" but later he was a perfect fit for the character "Munna".
20. Divyendu's is inspired by actor Farooq Sheikh. He has done a lot of movies during the 70s and the 80s. It was because of him Divyendu entered the acting field.
21. In the original movie "Chashme Baddoor" his acting inspiration Farooq Sheikh played the role, so when Divyendu got the offer to be a part of the remake of the film, he did not think about the money or how many months the movie will take; he just accepted the offer.
