He made his debut in the year 2004 with the television show Indian Idol Season 1 where he became the second runner up and started to gain popularity from thereon. His father Krushna Vaidya is an engineer with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board and his mother is Geeta Vaidya and has a sister whose name is not known.

8 months after he got over with Indian Idol, he released his first album "Tera Intezar" and the album was composed by Sajid-Wajid. He has sung many songs like "Hello Madam, I am your Adam", "God Promise Dil Dola", "Ek Ladki Anjaani Si". He has also done many live concerts and shows in Bangladesh, Maldives, and the United States. He was also the anchor of the famous show "Jhoom Indian" and was also a host for the show "Aaajaa Mahi Vay" and has done the playback for many movies like "Jigyaasa", "Shaadi No.1", "Krazzy 4" and "Hot Money".
