For the safety of the audience and to not spread the Coronavirus infection, IPL chooses to go on with the IPL 2020 without the audience in the stadium.
With no fans in the ground, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 first opening clash was between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Earlier, it looked, IPL is missing its soul but uske baad kuch aisa hua ki...
To leave off the space of the real crowd in the stadium, IPL 2020 used speakers and fake audience cheer to make sure that people don't miss that real feel while watching from their screens.
With the help of technology, IPL management attempts to create a dynamic stadium environment, where the viewers will not feel bored. I myself as a viewer believe that the audience voice fills the viewer's emotions with more enthusiasm.

Great that #IPL2020 is on.

But, the crowd sound seems like they recorded for hours at Marina beach, and overlaid it with a few people clapping in the studio.#MIvCSK
Happy to see #CSK and #Dhoni after all this crazy time. Brings a genuine smile. Letβs have a good game of #cricket βοΈ

@IPL thanks for adding the ambient crowd noise! π pic.twitter.com/4n021gVU9t
People watched FRIENDS with a fake laugh and complaining about fake crowd voice in IPL

Was pretty odd to hear the fake crowd noises initially ( when La Liga and UCL resumed after the pandemic ) but got used to it!

But the noise surely gets in your nerves when your team is on the receiving end π₯±π€
The fake crowd cheering in the IPL is like the IT cell of some political parties. Both only make noise, meaningless noise!

Watching @IPL on @DisneyplusHSVIP The fake crowd noise they've added is so funny!
— Suyash Abhyankar (@suyashjust4u) September 19, 2020
haha!
Why the f*** @IPL using fake crowd noise. It's a stupid move by @IPL. We don't want fake noise. We definitely want to hear players talking.

However, atleast they did not put the 'fake crowd' cut-outs like the CPL (Caribbean league) 2020 did.
The IPL 2020 has finally begun in UAE on September 19, 2020. This time not just television, the matches are also streaming live on Disney Hotstar.
